Level 3 – Advance Carbine Course

8 + Hour Course


Advanced Carbine Application (ACA) is intended to increase shooting distance, speed, ability to shoot on the move, ability to use cover & concealment, and the ability to function under stress.

Fundamental defensive shooting skills are reviewed and higher standards of accuracy and speed are stressed. Application drills are more complex and intended to help shooters learn to function under stress. Students should be in good physical condition, familiar with their equipment and have solid basic to intermediate gun-handling skills established prior to attending this course. Students will develop reflexive gun-handling skills with the rifle that will enable them to quickly and efficiently engage threats while performing multiple complex tasks.

  • Working around vehicles
  • Shooting while under physical and physiological stress
  • Clearing rooms
  • In and out of the Fatal Funnel
  • Transition to secondary weapon system.
  • Close Quarter Battle (CQB) techniques.

Gear and Equipment Needed:

  • Carbine Rifle
  • Red dot sights and holographic sights are allowed
  • 500 rounds of carbine ammunition (minimum)
  • Backup firearm (Pistol) and at least 150 rounds of ammunition
  • Firearm gloves
  • Clear wraparound ballistic eye protection
  • Ear Protection
  • PROPERLY fitting holster for secondary firearm
  • PROPERLY ADJUSTED 1, 2 or 3 point sling for rifle
  • Range clothing.
  • At least 3 magazines (if using low capacity, 4 or more).
  • Appropriate caliber ‘snap caps’ (available at our gear store) for malfunction drills.
  • Belt magazine carriers / chest rig / Plate carrier (please call IN ADVANCE if you need to be provided gear (additional charge if not purchased)

  • No refund – Cancelled less than 72 hours of class.
